  • You call us to book a taxi
  • You book a taxi via our mobile app
  • You message us via our Facebook page
  • You create or access your customer account
  • You travel in one of our vehicles fitted with a dash camera

3. Use of Your Information

We only use your information for the purpose of providing taxi services, including:

  • Processing and managing your bookings
  • Confirming journey details
  • Contacting you about your booking
  • Ensuring the safety and quality of service (call recordings and dash cam footage)

We do not use your data for marketing unless you have explicitly opted in.

4. Call Recording

  • All calls to and from our business may be recorded for training, monitoring, and safety purposes.
  • Recordings are stored in a secure, cloud-based system.
  • They are automatically deleted after 30 days.
  • If you wish to request access to a call recording, you may contact our Data Controller (see Section 10).

5. Dash Cam Recording

For the safety of our drivers, passengers, and the general public, our vehicles are fitted with dash cameras that record both video and audio.

Scope of Recording

  • Cameras record inside the vehicle (cabin-facing) and externally (road-facing). This includes images and sound.

Purpose of Recording

  • To protect the safety and security of drivers, passengers, and the public.
  • For use in investigating accidents, complaints, disputes, or allegations of misconduct.
  • To assist with insurance claims and potential legal proceedings.
  • For training and service improvement purposes.

Data Storage and Access

  • Recordings are securely stored and access is restricted to authorised personnel only.
  • Footage may be shared with insurers, legal representatives, or law enforcement where required by law or necessary for resolving disputes.

Retention

  • Recordings will only be kept for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes stated above.
  • Where footage is required for ongoing investigations, insurance claims, or legal proceedings, it may be retained for a longer period in line with legal obligations.

Your Rights (under GDPR)
As an individual captured in dash cam recordings, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access – You can request access to any personal data held about you.
  • Right to rectification – You can request corrections to inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to erasure – You may request that your personal data be deleted, subject to legal or insurance requirements.
  • Right to restriction – You can request limits on how your data is processed.
  • Right to object – You may object to the processing of your data in certain circumstances.

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Customer data is stored securely within their account, accessible only by PIN via the our mobile app or CabTreasure Customer Account.
  • Facebook messages related to bookings are deleted once the journey is complete.
  • We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss.

7. Data Retention

  • Call recordings are deleted after 30 days.
  • Customer account data is retained for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide our services.
  • Facebook messages are deleted after the journey has taken place.
  • Dash cam recordings are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes stated in Section 5.

8. Your Rights

Under data protection laws (such as GDPR, if applicable), you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal limits)
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Request a copy of your data (data portability)

All employees have been informed of our data collection and recording policies and are trained to handle personal data securely and respectfully.
